  10. There is concern from the staff about students not getting make-up work done in a timely manner.  There are way too many students who have long overdue assignments and are looking at incompletes or very low grades.  Therefore, steps will have to be taken to help you in the future.  Starting next week, any late make-up slips will result in detention unless you are given an extension for good reason in advance.  Teachers will be encouraged to use our “Noon ICU” we talked at the beginning of the year in which you would have to eat in the high school and use the remainder of noon break to do homework under teacher supervision.  Teachers will also be encouraged to dock grades for late work.  These are all things we have talked about in the past.  The hope is that with encouragement, students would learn to be responsible on their own.  In too many cases this is not happening so consequences will have to be put into place.  Believe it or not, it is because we want to help you.
