1.       Shane Larson, graduate of AHS, is back home from the Marines and is doing a recruiting visit.  Any high school student who has an interest in the service is welcome to visit with him today.  He will be in the counselor’s office at 10:05 today.  

2.       The NHS is sponsoring an “Ugly Sweater” contest today.  There will be prizes for the top two wearers of the ugliest sweaters.3.       Basketball doubleheader against Bridgewater/Emery in Armour on Saturday.  Boys JV @ 4:00 followed by girls JV, boys varsity, and girls varsity.

4.       Concession workers for Saturday – 10th & 12th grade – 5:00 shift: Ali, Sydney, Maci, Krista.  7:00 shift: Delaney, Julia, Amanda, Riley.  

5.       Semester Tests will start for some on Friday.  Monday will be a full testing day and there will be a testing session Tuesday morning, December 23rd.

7.       Those taking Distance Ed classes will have to provide documentation to Mr. Preheim that you have completed the course and the grade earned before he can put it on your transcript.  

8.       Knights of Columbus will be hosting Free Throw contest in Armour on Tuesday, December 23rd at 1:00.  You must be 14 or under as of January 1st to participate.  Mr. Glanzer has the entry forms.  

9.       The after-school program is collecting clean, gently used stuffed animals for the needy.  The box will be outside of Chareen’s office December 1st to the 19th.  

The preschool is sponsoring a food pantry drive.  They will be collecting non-perishable food items until December 19th.

It is a busy week with 3 nights of basketball including 2 doubleheaders, Christmas caroling, etc.  There also is basketball next Monday.  You need to prepare when you have time.

1.       We are having issues with students indicating they are going to eat school lunch when lunch count is taken and then not showing up to eat.  While we know the numbers won’t always be entirely accurate, we have had 10-12 less students eat than raised their hands the last couple of days.  Please think about it before you raise your hand and then try to eat here if you said you would.  

2.       There will be no high school vocal music on Friday.  Mr. Preheim will meet with the seniors concerning financial aid.  The freshmen have P.E.  Sophomores and juniors go to SRB.  

3.       Seniors will have Senior Project Checkpoints this week.  You will meet with your advisors.  Should only take 15-20 minutes for each group.  The schedule has been emailed to you and also is at the bottom of these announcements.  

4.       The NHS will go Christmas Caroling on Monday, December 15th.  Meet at the gym at 6:15.  

5.       The boys basketball teams will take pictures today.   

6.       The girls travel to White Lake tonight.  Jr. High at 5:15 followed by JV and Varsity. 

This game will be broadcast on KOOL-98.  

7.       Basketball double header versus Menno in Tripp on Saturday.  JV girls a5 4:00 followed by boys JV, girls and boys varsity.  

8.       Elementary concert Friday night at 7:30.  

9.       Mr. Preheim is gone to a financial aid workshop today.

1.       Mrs. Harnisch is sick today.  There will be no band.  

2.       As there is no band today, we will have to run SRB’s a little differently.  Freshmen and sophomores are with Mr. Barker in the extra study hall.  Juniors should go to the English room.  

Seniors should stay in Mr. Weber’s room after personal finance and Mr. Preheim will continue with financial aid information.  We will also discuss the advanced computer class and talk about the distance ed courses, etc.  

3.       The girls basketball team travels to Tyndall on Tuesday.  There will be no JV game as Tyndall does not have enough girls.  There will be two grade games and the varsity game will start earlier than usual.  The schedule is below:

4.       This year the preschool and after-school program are sponsoring drives to help those in need this holiday season.  Please consider contributing to these drives.

The after-school program is collecting clean, gently used stuffed animals for the needy.  The box will be outside of Chareen’s office December 1st to the 19th.  

The preschool is sponsoring a food pantry drive.  They will be collecting non-perishable food items until December 19th.

1.      There will be no band or vocal on today as the directors will be gone to the Platte Jr. High Festival.  

2.      There will be no school for students on Wednesday.  Teachers will have in-service.  

3.      If anyone has, or knows the whereabouts of the large roll of saran wrap that is missing from the
 kitchen, please bring it back or talk to Kelly.
 

4.      If you are out for Boys or Girls BB or a cheerleader and are a 5th thru 12th grader, you 
MUST have done the Impact baseline test with Mrs. Bitterman this year or last.
The 
Impact Test will be given today in the computer lab. One group of 5th graders is 
starting at 8:30 and one group of 6th graders is starting at 8:50. Any high school 
students that need to take the test should come to the lab at 10:00 so you are 
finished in time for the 11:00 classes. Students need to take the test once 
every two years. If you are not sure the last time you took the test then 
please see Mrs. Bitterman (She has a list).
 

 

 

 

We will also be administering initial drug tests for athletes and cheerleaders in HS sometime in the next few weeks. 
This is also true for students in fine arts events such as music, drama, oral interp etc. that are state sponsored activities/ 

If you have not taken your physical, that must be done as well.

2.        The juniors will take the ASVAB test on Friday morning, November 7th.  Testing will take place in the extra study hall and will start in the beginning of the day and will last until approximately 11:30.

1.       No women’s choir this week.  All-State will practice Tuesday and Thursday.  

2.       We will host a first round district contest between TDA and Corsica/Stickney here on Tuesday at 7:00.  The next match will be the winner of Tuesday’s contest versus Kimball/White Lake.  

We will need 1 concessions shift.  The money is split between classes so if we can have one student from each grade in 9-12 we should be good.  Shift would run from 6:30 to around 8:00.  Class presidents, find a volunteer and get the name to Mr. Preheim.

8.       Mrs. Ziegler lost a necklace here on Friday.  It is Black Hills gold with a heart on it.  If anyone finds it and returns it, she will make them a pan of baked goods of their choice (within her baking abilities).  

9.       The Triedens Reformed Youth Group from Tripp will be doing a Crop Drive on Wednesday.  Supper will be provided from 6:30-7:15.  They will then go around town to raise money for “Christian Rural Overseas Program.”  This program is a way to give food to the hungry.  A hayride to follow the walk.  Any Armour high schoolers are welcome to come to Tripp to participate.  Supper will be lasagna, brownies, and hot chocolate.  Flag Duty:  Flag Duty this week is Hunter S
