1.       This week we will have All-State Chorus for vocal instead of women’s on Thursday.  

3.       The girls play Bridgewater/Emery in Tripp on Thursday.  Junior high and Sydney, November, Haley and Paige will leave at 2:55.  The rest of the high school will leave at 5:15.  

4.       Brenda Lau will be placing a Nighthawk apparel order on September 9th.  Apparel will be here prior to homecoming.  Contact Brenda at 724-2777 to place an order.  

5.       Magazine sales will begin this week.  The sales rep will be here to meet with the juniors at 1:00 today.  

6.       Ping pong pictures and football, volleyball, and football cheerleader memory mates will be taken on Thursday.  Forms for both can be found on the table in the upstairs hallway.

Mariah, Krista, Courtney, Hannah and Alicia are helping with pics on Thursday.  See your teachers in advance.  

7.       Worker lists for concessions have been posted on the bulletin boards.  You are responsible to know when you work.  NHS/Student Council volleyball shifts have been added.  Those of you in those two organizations need to check out the schedule to see when you work.  

8.       Congratulations to this week’s Subway Effort Award winners.  Stop in for your certificates.  Daniel Fuoss, Becca Ymker, Kasey Goehring, and Krista Fuoss.

9.       Check the dates on your make-up slips.   

10.    Any students interested in SCRUBS camps need to see Mr. Preheim for more information.  The Yankton SCRUBS camp is October 1st.  Deadline to register is September 17th.  Do not wait until the last minute.  Western Dakota Tech is also having a SCRUBS Camp on November 5th.  Application deadline is Oct. 24.

11.    Seniors interested in taking the ACT on October 25th or the SAT on October 11th need to register in early September.

12.    Sgt. Daryl Bird from the SD National Guard posted information on the bulletin board including an invitation to a Paintball Event on Saturday, Sept. 13th.

13.    The Armour School PTT is selling tickets for an Ipad Mini.....$1.00 each. Drawing to be held at halftime of our homecoming game on Sept. 19. Contact any teacher for tickets. Thanks!!

14.    21st CCLC Family night: Pre-school  to 8th graders and their parents are welcome to come join the fun on Tuesday September 9th  at 7:00 PM in the multi-purpose room and gym. The Sioux Falls Zoo Mobile will be here with animals and more. Free reptile book and CD for each family that attends. Door prizes too, so ZOOM on in!!!

1.       Good luck to the girls who play Menno in Tripp tonight.  

2.       We will have class meetings on Tuesday during afternoon SRB.  You are to come up with your float idea, building location, flatbed, etc.  Also, 9th – 11th grade need to come up with a skit for coronation.  We will also vote for Royalty candidates.  Meet in the same rooms as you had your class meetings the first day of school.  

3.       All students taking Dual Credit College Courses come to Mr. Preheim’s room briefly at 1:00 today before going to your class meetings.  

4.       Magazine sales will begin on Wednesday.  The sales rep will be here to meet with the juniors at 1:00 on Wednesday.

2.       Good luck to the Nighthawk football team tonight as they open the season against Andes Central in Tripp tonight.  Game time is 7:00.     

3.       No school on Monday in celebration of Labor Day.

You need to take the test every two years. You may do this now if you know you are going out for a sport later this year and want to get it over with.

4.       If you haven’t turned in sheets to Mr. Preheim or Mrs. Bitterman or at least talked to them by the end of the day, you will receive detention.

5.       Today is the last day to make schedule changes.

9.       Carly Sparks recently answered the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge.”  She has now challenged the high school staff to do the same.  The “Ice Bucket Challenge” has raised over $30 million to help fight Lou Gehrig’s disease.  We now have 48 hours to dump or have someone dump a bucket of ice water over us or donate $5 to this cause.  Once completed, you may challenge someone else.  This is on our honor.  To donate or to get more information:

1.       Today is a “B” day. 

2.       Mr. Weber has morning SRB.  Mr. Holbeck has afternoon SRB.

3.       Hopefully, the locker combination issues have been resolved.  See Mr. Preheim if that is not the case.  

4.       Middle school and freshmen will have their “Pool Party” for success on standardized tests this afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30.  

5.       All freshmen and any lifeguards that are going to the pool party at 12:30 are dismissed at 12:15 to eat today.

6.       The following lifeguards need to see Mr. Preheim right after 1st period today:  Gunnar, Courtney, Krista & Mariah.  At least one of you will have to be out at the pool during the party.  We can and will schedule around your classes.  

7.       The following students should come to Mr. Preheim’s office at 1:15 today:  Tucker, Joe, Jordan and Cooper.

Parents check out your k-8th students’ progress on Renaissance Home Connect!!!  

Look under Student informational and click on Renaissance Home Connect. Your student should know his or her login and password. If they forgot, please contact their teacher and it will be provided to you.

You can look at their book shelf and see individual books they have read. Click on the book and you can view how they did on that Accelerated Quiz. Some books also have a vocabulary quiz and you can view words your student has struggled with. If they take another vocabulary quiz the words missed on a previous quiz will be reviewed again.  

Your students Accelerated Math score will also be available. Your students can work on Math Facts in a Flash at home anytime. (Even this summer) Reviewing these skills we keep your student on the path to success.
