1.        Congratulations to Courtney Krsnak who was selected by the high school staff as the DAR Good Citizen Award Recipient.

2.        Congratulations to Brenden Van Der Werff who is a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist.  That is a very high achievement. 

3.        In theory, you should now all be able to sign into SD MyLife with your email account as your login and your email password as your SDMyLife password.  Try it.

4.        Juniors and seniors, get your College Fair Registration completed and give Mr. Preheim your printed copy.

5.        Seniors, make sure and get your Jostens orders turned in to Mr. Preheim this week.  

6.        The girls play at Freeman on Thursday.  7th & 8th play at 4:00, followed by C, JV and Varsity. The van with the grades school team and the “C” team will leave at 2:30.  Girls will have to be dismissed at 2:20.  The Armour bus with JV and Varsity will leave here at 4:30.

7.        Concessions for Friday:  1st shift-Haley, Sydney, Carly, Mariah.  2nd shift-Daniel, Jordan M, Janaya, and Hunter H.

8.        JV Bus for Monday, Sept. 22nd game at Gayville:  Mr. Weber will take bus from here, stop in Tripp, and proceed to Gayville.  Time TBA

10.     Anyone interested in attending any of Mitchell Tech’s MyTI Days should check out the display case.  The first one is the Construction Camp on October 16th. 

11.     Anyone seniors interested in attending SDSU Senior day on September 20th should see Mr. Preheim for more information.  

12.     Any students driving any vehicle of any type in the parade need to get a “permission to drive” slip from Mr. Preheim and get it signed and returned.  Mr. Preheim will not be in school on Thursday.  NO ONE has yet to pick up a form.  Therefore, the assumption is that no one is driving a float or any other vehicle in the parade.  If you are, you MUST see Mr. Preheim today!

13.     Parade at 1:00 on Friday.  All students are to report to your home rooms at 8:30 where you had your class meetings.  You will go out as a class to your work site.  School is in session until 12:00 when you are dismissed for lunch.  Therefore, you are to stay together as a class until that time.  Either at the work site or at the school.  School is not officially over until after the parade.  Busses will run after the parade. 

14.     There is no driving to the float building or during float building without permission from your advisors or administration and there must be a reason for you to drive (ie. you have lots of cardboard , etc. in your vehicle.  No driving between noon and the end of the parade unless there is a specific reason and you have parental and permission from Mr. Preheim.  

15.     The Armour Community Youth Group will be meeting at the theater Sunday at 2:15 p.m. to attend When the Game Stands Tall. The youth group will pay for your movie tickets but you will need your own money for concessions. After the movie, we will be having supper at the UCC and discussing the movie. Everyone grades 7-12 welcome.

16.     Congratulations to last week’s effort award winners.  Stop in for your “Subway” ticket effort award winners:  Devin Roberts, Joseph Majerus, Shalee DeVries, and Brenden Van Der Werff.

1.       Coronation tonight at 7:30.   

2.       All high school students are invited to a bonfire at Courtney’s house following Coronation.  

3.       Student council members and seniors can decorate the stage in their free time today.  

4.       We will rehearse for coronation at 1:00 today in the gym.  All choir members, royalty candidates, and junior emcees need to be in the gym at that time.  

5.       The JV football game scheduled for today in Tripp has been moved to next Monday, September 22nd, and will be played in Gayville.  All JV football players make sure your parents know this.  We don’t want anyone leaving for Gayville this afternoon.

2.       The player bus leaves at 3:15.  HS FB players are dismissed at 3:00 on.  You must go to the start of your 6th period class but get your assignments today.  Cheerleaders and stats leave at 5:00.

9.       Carly Sparks recently answered the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge.”  She has now challenged the high school staff to do the same.  The “Ice Bucket Challenge” has raised over $30 million to help fight Lou Gehrig’s disease.  We now have 48 hours to dump or have someone dump a bucket of ice water over us or donate $5 to this cause.  Once completed, you may challenge someone else.  This is on our honor.  To donate or to get more information:

1.       Today is a “B” day. 

2.       Mr. Weber has morning SRB.  Mr. Holbeck has afternoon SRB.

3.       Hopefully, the locker combination issues have been resolved.  See Mr. Preheim if that is not the case.  

4.       Middle school and freshmen will have their “Pool Party” for success on standardized tests this afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30.  

5.       All freshmen and any lifeguards that are going to the pool party at 12:30 are dismissed at 12:15 to eat today.

6.       The following lifeguards need to see Mr. Preheim right after 1st period today:  Gunnar, Courtney, Krista & Mariah.  At least one of you will have to be out at the pool during the party.  We can and will schedule around your classes.  

7.       The following students should come to Mr. Preheim’s office at 1:15 today:  Tucker, Joe, Jordan and Cooper.  

8.       You have 3 sheets to return to Mr. Preheim this week:

9.       You have sheets to return to Mrs. Bitterman this week as well.  You also need to pay your $25 for laptop insurance if you have not done so.  

10.   You have until Tuesday to change classes.  All changes will require parental permission.

11.   There are many of you taking distance courses from a variety of institutions.  Report to study hall when you don’t have class.  We may move you once we get settled.  Any of you who have any issues or if you run into any problems, please let Mr. Preheim know immediately.

12.   There will be a short student council meeting on Thursday at 1:35 in Mr. Preheim’s office.

13.   No school for students on Friday.

Parents check out your k-8th students’ progress on Renaissance Home Connect!!!  

Look under Student informational and click on Renaissance Home Connect. Your student should know his or her login and password. If they forgot, please contact their teacher and it will be provided to you.

You can look at their book shelf and see individual books they have read. Click on the book and you can view how they did on that Accelerated Quiz. Some books also have a vocabulary quiz and you can view words your student has struggled with. If they take another vocabulary quiz the words missed on a previous quiz will be reviewed again.  

Your students Accelerated Math score will also be available. Your students can work on Math Facts in a Flash at home anytime. (Even this summer) Reviewing these skills we keep your student on the path to success.
